About the role

  • SENIOR RESTAURANT DESIGNER Be the next member of our growing team at Browns Restaurant Group (BRG).

Responsibilities

  • Design & Technical Experience:
  • Lead complex project initiatives from design to handover completion, driving strong coordination efforts between landlords, franchisees, architects, sub-consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Be the design leadership force that drives interior design aesthetic including samples library oversight, optimized space planning and restaurant layouts, FF&E and art program.
  • Leverage industry design trends and insights to advance design innovation while maintaining current understanding of building code.
  • Partner with franchisee community, store operations and culinary teams to gather feedback and translate insights into meaningful design and process improvements.
  • Maintain high quality standards in technical excellence, design and build within department team.
  • Design Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Translate organizational priorities and business strategy into thoughtful, scalable design solutions.
  • Apply critical thinking and data driven analysis to solve complex design and operational challenges.
  • Champion and articulate design rationale to senior leadership, franchisees, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design (from CIDA accredited school).
  • Experience working with franchise models or multi-entity brands is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant front of house and back of house kitchen space planning, guest experience and operations.
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Ability to use SketchUp and Revit an asset.
  • Develop strong restaurant design concepts, utilizing technical proficiency in AutoCAD and BRG brand design principles.
  • 7-10+ years of commercial interior design experience, preferably in restaurant and hospitality environments.
  • Provence experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from concept through construction and handover, including coordination with architects and consultants.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all levels of the organization, and relevant external contacts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage change within tight deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Hospitality background an asset.
