About the role

  • firmware development, prototyping, debugging, coordinating with vendors, and interfacing with manufacturing organizations will be key to success in this role.
  • In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment that values hands-on problem solving, rapid iteration, and continuous improvement through the evaluation of new technologies and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, schematic capture, and prototype microcontroller and microprocessor-based products
  • Design and develop complex embedded systems involving mixed-signal design, high-speed interfaces, and integration across hardware and firmware domains
  • Develop or support firmware and/or FPGA designs
  • Lead board bring-up, debugging, and root cause analysis of hardware issues, with the ability to independently drive issues to resolution
  • Test and verify new designs
  • Lead or support transition of designs into production
  • Contribute to identification of emerging technologies and support technical direction within assigned projects
  • Design to and support qualification of products to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, FCC, and CE
  • Create and execute test plans for hardware and software validation
  • Design and implement test fixtures to verify circuit board and system functionality for production testing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, schematic capture, layout, and board bring-up, with demonstrated progression in ownership and technical responsibility
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineers, lab technicians, product management, and manufacturing
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization
  • Your experience with embedded hardware design, embedded

Nice to have

  • Experience with EE design tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics)
  • Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g., Xilinx, Microsemi, Intel/Altera)
  • Experience with smart card, RFID, NFC, printing, or motion control systems
  • 7+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, schematic capture, layout, and board bring-up
  • Working knowledge of project management concepts (timelines, costs, requirements, resources)
  • Where you will be: Minneapolis, MN, working in‑office Monday through Friday.

Compensation

  • The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $96,797-$141,969 per year (in the primary posting location).
  • Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience.
  • This position is also eligible for the company's discretionary annual incentive plan.
  • Note: Benefit and Compensation programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
