About the role

firmware development, prototyping, debugging, coordinating with vendors, and interfacing with manufacturing organizations will be key to success in this role.
In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment that values hands-on problem solving, rapid iteration, and continuous improvement through the evaluation of new technologies and tools.

Design, schematic capture, and prototype microcontroller and microprocessor-based products
Design and develop complex embedded systems involving mixed-signal design, high-speed interfaces, and integration across hardware and firmware domains
Develop or support firmware and/or FPGA designs
Lead board bring-up, debugging, and root cause analysis of hardware issues, with the ability to independently drive issues to resolution
Test and verify new designs
Lead or support transition of designs into production
Contribute to identification of emerging technologies and support technical direction within assigned projects
Design to and support qualification of products to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, FCC, and CE
Create and execute test plans for hardware and software validation
Design and implement test fixtures to verify circuit board and system functionality for production testing

Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
5+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, schematic capture, layout, and board bring-up, with demonstrated progression in ownership and technical responsibility
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineers, lab technicians, product management, and manufacturing
Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization
Your experience with embedded hardware design, embedded

Experience with EE design tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics)
Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g., Xilinx, Microsemi, Intel/Altera)
Experience with smart card, RFID, NFC, printing, or motion control systems
7+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, schematic capture, layout, and board bring-up
Working knowledge of project management concepts (timelines, costs, requirements, resources)
Where you will be: Minneapolis, MN, working in‑office Monday through Friday.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $96,797-$141,969 per year (in the primary posting location).
Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience.
This position is also eligible for the company's discretionary annual incentive plan.
