Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of major systems and services, and ensure software solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with solution managers, engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements that meet client needs and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure sustained quality and reliability of our software solutions, and act as a go-to expert by identifying and resolving complex, high-priority issues in both development and production environments.
  • Actively contribute to code reviews, provide constructive feedback on design and implementation, and provide technical guidance to other engineers to elevate skills, productivity, and overall effectiveness.
  • Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing new technologies, methodologies, and AI capabilities that improve team efficiency, software performance, and development processes.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships or co-ops included)
  • Experience with one or more languages such as.NET/C#, Python, Java, or Ruby
  • Experience with modern web technologies such as TypeScript/JavaScript and frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue
  • Familiarity with RESTful services or web service integration
  • Familiarity with interoperability standards such as FHIR or HL7

Nice to have

  • Backend development: Experience with one or more languages such as.NET/C#, Python, Java, or Ruby
  • Frontend development: Experience with modern web technologies such as TypeScript/JavaScript and frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue
  • APIs & integrations: Familiarity with RESTful services or web service integration
  • Databases: Experience working with relational or cloud-based databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, BigQuery)
  • Cloud & infrastructure: Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)
  • Job Expectations:
  • Willing to work as a part on an on-call rotation
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed

Skills

  • Please note this position is based onsite at WellSky's World Headquarters in Overland Park, KS.
  • Experience working with relational or cloud-based databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, BigQuery)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)
