  • You will work cross-functionally with electrical, software, and systems engineers in a fast-paced, gate-driven product development environment, set technical direction, and play a critical role in shaping a portfolio of products.

Responsibilities

  • Drive mechanical design and integration across the H1, K1, and K7 programs through all phases of product development
  • Develop enclosure, mounting, and packaging solutions for electronic components, including compute, sensors, and power systems
  • Identify and manage thermal, structural, and ergonomic constraints in electromechanical systems
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and system engineering teams to resolve cross-functional tradeoffs
  • Support development of test plans, fixtures, and validation activities to ensure product performance and reliability
  • Work with external partners and vendors as needed to support design and manufacturing
  • Knightscope is a security technology company building the Nation's First Autonomous Security Force.
  • Knightscope is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our product development team and own mechanical engineering across multiple hardware programs, including H1, K1, and K7.

Requirements

  • B.S or M.S degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in product development, with demonstrated independent ownership of electromechanical hardware programs from concept through production.
  • Experience taking multiple hardware products from concept through production.
  • Experience designing mechanical systems that integrate electronics
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (Solidworks, Fusion360)
  • Experience with different manufacturing techniques and materials.
  • ability to work effectively with electrical, software, and systems engineering teams
  • Proven ability to work independently and set technical direction

Nice to have

  • Experience with soft goods, wearables, or body-worn products preferred

Compensation

  • $170,000 - $185,000
