Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and schema objects using MicroStrategy Workstation.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries across Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Build and manage MicroStrategy metadata (attributes, facts, hierarchies, transformations).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into BI solutions.
  • Optimize reports, dashboards, and queries for performance and scalability.
  • Maintain documentation for BI solutions and data models.
  • Build or integrate natural language query (NLQ) capabilities for BI dashboards (e.g., "ask your data" features).

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation.
  • Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technology, data science, statistics, analytics, or related quantitative and software development field.
  • Candidate is required to travel to our Baltimore office once a week (Tuesday).
  • 5+ years of MicroStrategy development experience, including MicroStrategy Workstation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Experience with BI/visualization tools such as AWS QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) for data analysis and productivity.

Nice to have

  • Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Python or scripting.
  • API/data integration experience.

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Experience with performance tuning (execution plans, indexing, partitioning).

  • Job Description:
  • We are seeking a skilled Senior BI Enginee r with strong Oracle and PostgreSQL database expertise and advanced SQL skills to design, develop, and maintain enterprise BI solutions.
  • The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with MicroStrategy Workstation, along with exposure to modern BI tools such as AWS QuickSight and/or Power BI.
  • This role will also leverage AI/GenAI tools to help automate report generation, documentation, and data analysis workflows, and support natural language query (NLQ) capabilities for BI dashboards to improve self-service analytics.
  • Experience with Snowflake is a plus.
