About the role

  • In this role, you will serve as the company's subject matter expert on safety and risk management, guiding training, compliance, and field engagement across all operations.
  • You will play a key role in advancing AWC's vision of a world-class safety culture that protects team members, strengthens operational performance, and differentiates us in the marketplace.
  • Serve as the company's safety and risk management expert, advising leadership and driving improvements in incident reduction, reporting, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain a strong safety culture by engaging employees, subcontractors, and project teams in AWC's safety initiatives, training, and field execution.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, safety assessments, and high-risk reviews to identify hazards and implement corrective actions during planning and execution.
  • Track and analyze safety metrics, providing leadership with trends, insights, and recommendations to support data-driven improvement.
  • Partner with Operations, field leaders, safety staff, and subcontractors to promote consistent safety execution and strengthen accountability across projects.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of AWC's safety strategy, ensuring alignment with regulations, best practices, and company goals.
  • Lead incident investigations, including injuries and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis, corrective actions, and communication of lessons learned.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of commercial construction experience, including 5 or more years in a construction safety leadership role.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.

Nice to have

  • CHST, ASP, or a comparable construction safety certification required.
