  • Serves as the primary first responder (armed) to all life safety and protection of property, emergency, and non-emergency incidents on campus.
  • Includes rendering emergency medical assistance or general first aid.

Responsibilities

  • Takes photos, makes videos, or creates any other relevant documentary evidence in support of criminal prosecution, potential insurance claims, and other legal processes.
  • May serve as a Field Training Officer or instructor. May fulfill informal leadership duties in the absence of Leads or supervisors.
  • Conducts building checks, which include checking access control devices, door locks, and proactively looking for any possible safety or security hazards. Uses problem-solving skills to resolve issues found during building checks.
  • Enforces parking regulations and provides support to the Transportation Office as needed.
  • EPO creates and maintains safe, innovative, efficient, mission-driven environments that support our students, faculty, staff, patients, researchers, and community partners.
  • Acts on own initiative, as well as directed calls for service.
  • Provides Emergency Management support during larger-scale incidents.

Requirements

  • Security Officer In A Professional Security Organization (2 Years), Armed Officer In An Academic Environment Or Civilian/Military Police Setting (1 Year)
  • A Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) license and a good driving record are required for this position.

  • The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
