About the role
- The Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology Service is critical to the lifesaving work we do at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, providing timely diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning of diseases in companion animals.
- As a Diagnostic Imaging technician, you'll operate our computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to obtain quality images for our radiologists and other board-certified specialists across the hospital.
- Diagnostic Imaging technicians work together as a team to provide the highest quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia support and patient recovery for patients of all ASA levels undergoing diagnostic imaging
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Diagnostic Imaging modalities (CT and MRI) and anesthetic equipment
- A multidisciplinary team of 140+ veterinarians across 20+ specialties: With over 20 specialties and services under one roof, our departments frequently work together to deliver the highest quality of patient care in the veterinary field.
Requirements
- Must have NYS Veterinary Technician's license
- A strong skill set in phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia protocols, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care is essential
- Candidate must be able to work successfully both as part of a team and autonomously with the ability to remain composed in stressful and emergency situations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, respectful working relationships
