About the role

Responsibilities
- Deliver innovation that matters.
- Build a foundation for all to be successful.
- With minimal supervision, provide individual and group academic advising to online and campus-based students that supports academic success, engagement, and timely progress to graduation.
- Consult with program chairs, faculty, colleagues and students to support SEMTE students to proceed efficiently through their curriculum and navigate setbacks.
- We also lead the Electrified Processes for Industry Without Carbon Clean Energy Manufacturing Institute, supported by the Department of Energy, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and strengthen manufacturing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field
- Under general supervision, the advisor will play a key role in promoting student persistence and timely degree completion in Aerospace, Chemical, Materials Science, and Mechanical Engineering programs.
- Experience in college level academic advising, including both online and campus-based students.
- Experience in working with student populations.
- Experience in working in a fast paced and high-volume advising unit.
- Experience in using student information computer systems and degree audits (i.e., PeopleSoft/Oasis, DARS).
- Experience in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience in using database programs (Analytics, Salesforce).
- Experience in assisting with special events.
- With limited supervision, provide administrative support related to student enrollment, registration, orientation, retention and degree completion while maintaining comprehensive and accurate student records using a variety of software and data sources.
Compensation
- $50,000-56,000 per year; DOE
- $56,000.00 USD Annual
