About the role

  • The Department of Cell and Tissue Genomics (CTG) at Genentech is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Scientist 3 to leverage cutting-edge genomics strategies for target discovery and next-generation therapeutic engineering.
  • The candidate will work collaboratively with scientists of diverse expertise, including immunology, cell therapy, genomics, human genetics, computational biology, and AI/ML.

Responsibilities

  • By integrating complex experimental systems with deep biological insights, you will directly drive the identification of novel molecular mechanisms, target candidates, and cell therapy strategies for immune-mediated diseases.

Requirements

  • High-content genomics: Experience in NGS, single-cell genomics, proteomics and/or imaging
  • Data Analysis: Experience in the analysis of single cell and genomic data using R and/or Python.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in a broad range of biochemical, molecular, and cell biology techniques including flow cytometry.
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for collaborative, team-based science.
  • Motivation to learn new experimental approaches and computational analyses, and the curiosity to explore unconventional ideas.
  • Immunology: Deep expertise in immunology, including primary immune cell culture and functional assays.
  • In vivo experience a plus
  • Experience deploying these at scale and in primary immune cells and/or iPSCs is a plus.

Compensation

  • The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $103,400 - $192,000.
