About the role

  • The Residence Hall Director (RHD) is a full-time, live-in professional staff member responsible for community development, student retention, staff supervision, conduct administration, and daily operations of a residential area housing 150-400 students.
  • The RHD is expected to live on campus in a college-provided apartment as a condition of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain a residential community culture rooted in inclusion, belonging, and genuine connection, with attention to first-year transition and persistence to graduation
  • Design programs that connect students with faculty, academic resources, and campus support services
  • Advise hall council, support student leadership development, and maintain regular visibility and personal engagement with residents
  • Provide direct support and guidance to residents navigating personal, interpersonal, or academic concerns, with timely referrals to Counseling Services and the VP of Student Affairs office
  • Manage hall-level budget including planning, purchasing, and tracking expenditures; complete occupancy management, room changes, and resident records using StarRez, Maxient, and Workday
  • Maintain an assigned on-campus residence and serve as a visible, accessible presence within the residential community, modeling College expectations and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and connected living environment.
  • Coursework builds on the natural, cultural, and historical resources found around the Four Corners region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • This is a required live-in position.

  • Live-In Requirement: This is a required live-in position.

Nice to have

  • Previous live-in residential life experience, including on-call or duty rotation
  • Supervisory or management experience with student staff
  • Experience with student conduct administration and documentation systems
  • Familiarity with StarRez, Maxient, or comparable housing or case management platforms

Compensation

  • The salary range for this position is $45,000, plus a
  • Exempt from state classified system (Salary)
