About the role

  • Initial rank will be consistent with qualifications and experience.
  • PhD in Portuguese, Comparative Literature, or a related field will be considered if the candidate can fulfill the duties/expectations of the position.

Requirements

  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • All faculty are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Experience teaching Spanish courses at the university level.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is also required.
  • The ability to teach Portuguese literature/culture classes is also highly valued although not required.
  • Failure to attach the required documents may result in your application not being considered.

Compensation

  • This professional-track teaching position has a course-load of 4-3-2 (27 credit-hours per year).
  • Teaching faculty teach nine courses per year (27 credit hours).
