Responsibilities
- Performs semi-skilled maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC support systems, and mechanical equipment.
- Performs installation and repair of fixtures, equipment, and building components in classrooms, labs, offices, and common areas.
- Assists with preventative maintenance programs for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building infrastructure.
- Operates and maintains equipment, including forklifts, pressure washers, carpet extractors, power tools, and campus vehicles.
- Maintains maintenance records, inventory of supplies, and equipment logs.
- Performs general building repairs, including painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and minor electrical and plumbing work.
- Maintains cooperative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and visitors while resolving maintenance issues.
- Maintenance Worker II performs advanced maintenance and repair work to support the safe and efficient operation of university facilities.
- This position performs semi-skilled to skilled maintenance tasks in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC support, and mechanical systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or related trades.
- Demonstrated experience performing semi-skilled maintenance work in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC systems.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities KSAs:
- however, occasional overtime, on-call work, or emergency work on campus (including weekends and evenings) may be required.
- Transcripts issued outside of the United States require a equivalency statement from a certified transcript evaluation service verifying the degree equivalency to that of an accredited institution within the USA.

Nice to have
- Technical training, vocational certification, or related trade experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair facility issues with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and proper use of maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read work orders, diagrams, and basic technical documentation.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and power tools safely.
Compensation
- TARGET HIRING SALARY: $21.00 - $21.75 ($43,680 - $45,240), commensurate with experience.
