Responsibilities
- Design and simulation of high-speed analog mixed-signal IC products from concept to manufacturing
- Work proactively with the extended team to implement new designs to specification and support existing products
- Semtech's Signal Integrity Products group designs analog and mixed-signal Integrated Circuits used in high performance optical and electrical networks.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and an ability to excel in a dynamic team environment which values growth and innovation.
- Familiarity of high-speed components such as VCOs, PLLs, wide-band amplifiers and data converters is a strong asset.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and oscilloscopes coupled with knowledge of scripting languages such as Python are considered assets.
- Incumbents may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically included in this description.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Design experience in high-speed CMOS and/or BiCMOS, appreciation of high-speed/RF design and layout concepts, device models, parasitics and other non-idealities affecting circuit performance.
- Thorough understanding of analog circuit theory, transmission lines, and device fundamentals.
- Experience with analog CAD tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent. RF modelling, Matlab, or system modelling software knowledge is a plus.

- A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee's total compensation package.
Nice to have
- BASc degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with significant IC design content (relevant work experience in the field preferred).
- Experience with analog CAD tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent.
- RF modelling, Matlab, or system modelling software knowledge is a plus.

- A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000.
