About the role
- The Cathodic Protection Helper will have independent decision-making responsibilities pertaining to CP Survey on natural gas CP systems.
- Within the employees' area of operation, or as assigned, this position is responsible for focusing on preventing corrosion and complying with codes.
- Prioritizes daily workload of cathodic protection surveys and related activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform cathodic protection surveys (pipe-to-soil reads, etc.) through on-site personal assessment and analysis to formulate solutions that will promptly re-establish cathodic protection on the natural gas distribution and transmission systems maximizing the reliability of the operating systems, public safety and preserving the company's capital investment.
Skills
- Must be able to test AC/DC circuits
- Must have an understanding of AC/DC electricity
- Must have a understanding of electronic instrumentation
- Must have a understanding & ability to make minor repairs and adjustments on electrical measuring instruments
- Must have ability to use computer, calculator, electric measuring instruments, company vehicles and common hand tools
- Must have knowledge of past and present construction practices and material selections
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of galvanic cathodic protection systems

Compensation
- $32.63 per hour
