About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and analyze financial results for accuracy, completeness, and key variances.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors by preparing supporting documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Support accounting activities related to accounts payable and payroll, as needed.
  • Support the company's SOX 404 program by performing control activities, maintaining process documentation, and assisting with the testing and remediation of key controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen internal controls and enhance operational efficiency.
  • This position reports to the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting and partners closely with the Accounting Manager to support Solid Power's internal and external financial reporting responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and audit support.
  • Working knowledge of internal control concepts and the SOX 404 framework.
  • Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, large data sets).

Nice to have

  • CPA, CMA, or progress toward professional certification.
  • Experience at a publicly traded company, including familiarity with SEC reporting requirements (Forms 10-Q and 10-K).
  • Big 4 or national public accounting experience, with exposure to audits of publicly traded companies.
  • Experience in the manufacturing, technology, or clean-energy industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods working at a computer.

Compensation

  • $95,000 - $110,000/year
  • Company may delay commencement of employment, rescind an offer of employment, terminate employment, and/or may modify job responsibilities, compensation, benefits, and/or access to Company facilities and information systems, as Company deems appropriate, in order to ensure compliance with applicable government access control restrictions.
