About the role

Reporting to the Aquatics Supervisor, lifeguards are responsible for the safe supervision of the public in the aquatics center.
Monitors aquatic activities, ensures adherence and enforcement of pool rules and safety regulations
Supervises and ensures the safety of pool users in accordance with established safety and health guidelines

In addition, lifeguards plan, organize, and lead special events within the pool area as assigned, and ensure proper day to day maintenance and cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas.

Ability to work with the public in a positive and effective manner
Ability to educate the public on facility rules and affect discipline in a positive manner
Demonstrated ability to be a leader
National Lifeguard Certification- Required
Standard First Aid with CPR Level 'C' and AED (intermediate)- Required
AMOA- Airway Management Oxygen Administration -Preferred
Required Certifications

The hourly wage rate is $25.45/hour as per the current Collective Agreement.
This position is a unionized position under CUPE local 2698.
