About the role

  • Pima County Department of Transportation is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician I in the Planning & Engineering Division.

Responsibilities

  • This position installs, maintains, and repairs traffic signals, street lighting, other electrical and electronic traffic control devices, and related equipment in the shop and at field locations.

Requirements

  • wear required safety clothing and equipment
  • Frequently required to lift, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Periodic on-call overtime is required (nights, weekends and holidays).

Nice to have

  • (Be specific in describing your experience in your application.
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic and/or electrical systems equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical blueprint drawings and technical electrical diagrams.
  • Experience maintaining and/or constructing electrical systems and equipment with nominal voltage ranges of 120, 240, and 480 volts.
  • Selection Procedure: Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications.
  • Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications.
  • The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources.
  • Supplemental Information: Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application.

Compensation

  • $25.90 - $36.24 Per Hour Range Explanation: Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer.
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
