About the role
- There is one position as an Assistant Engineer I, with an emphasis in the electrical field, for the Construction Management Unit.
- As an Assistant Engineer I, you will be responsible for learning and assisting with construction inspection and testing and on-site contract administration on heavy public works construction contracts.
- The successful candidate will learn and assist in assuring that constructed work and furnished materials meet specified standards.
Responsibilities
- Learns and assists with reviewing contractor work plans, procedures, schedules, and payment requests and developing independent cost estimates.
- Learns and assists in investigating construction deficiencies and documenting findings to support corrective actions.
- Document construction activities, maintain project records, and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field by hire date.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
- CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
