About the role
- It also involves working closely with stakeholders from other disciplines and other departments to balance priorities, improve processes and satisfy a complex set of goals.

Responsibilities
- Optimize the functionality from as-sold to a working mechanical design within the budget in consultation with other disciplines ( Electrical, Controls, Supply Chain, Installation, etc.)
- Perform spatial analysis of clearance envelopes, egress pathways and fork lift vehicular aisles
- Perform system and component level calculations (Throughput, motor power, belt pull, reactive forces to building structure, etc )
- Engineering of project specials needed for non-standard design applications
- Create a motor manifest with respect to electrical and controls engineering requirements
- Document all engineering decisions through design plans, complete and clear installation files, and engineering instructions directed to a site supervisor and installation subcontractor
- Support the installation and commissioning both on site, and from the Marietta office
- Project document control using a rights based database system
- Ability to think conceptually (overall system) and translate this into a detailed system design
Requirements
- Knowledge/Experience with International Building Code (IBC)
- Knowledge/Experience with ANSI B11 Machine Guarding Standards
- Knowledge/Experience with ASME B20.1 Safety Standards for Conveyors and Related Equipment
- Knowledge/Experience with ISO 13849-1

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Minimum of 2 years of relative work experience (or Associate ME/ET with 5 years related experience)
- Must be willing and able to travel domestically up to 50% with occasional international opportunities
- Knowledge/Experience with OSHA 1910/29 Occupational Safety and Health Standards
