About the role
- The Recreation Programmer assists the Recreation Program Coordinator in daily implementation of programs developed and coordinated through the Supervisor, Recreation Services.
- The Recreation Programmer reports directly to the Recreation Program Coordinator and is responsible for carrying out directives provided.
- The Recreation Programmer is responsible for implementing and overseeing a diverse range of programs, services, activities and special events that meet the needs and interests of children, youth and adults residing in the City of Brooks and surrounding Region.
Responsibilities
- Maintains ongoing communication with community members, user groups and program participants to ensure participant expectations are understood and met;
- Plans, coordinates, delivers, markets and facilitates Summer Day Camps over an 8-week period.
Requirements
- Experience in community-based programming an asset
- Effective verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to prepare reports
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Experience using Intelli recreation management software is an asset
Compensation
- The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package with this position falling within the scope of the Collective Agreement between the City of Brooks and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1032.
- The Collective Agreement including wages can be found online at www.brooks.ca.
- The 2026 starting wage rate for this position is $24.61 per hour.
