About the role

  • This seasoned leader will oversee the development, governance, and optimization of digital communications platforms, including driving editorial strategy for Coupang's corporate newsroom.
  • Your work will be mission critical to achieving our public policy and advocacy objectives, as well as establishing Coupang's US brand and value proposition.
  • This role requires a strong leader with deep experience leading digital efforts for US and DC audiences, ideally at global corporations, large tech companies, or for top-tier political campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead digital policy communications strategies and rapid-response campaigns that support Coupang's corporate communications, public policy, and business objectives for US and Washington, DC audiences.
  • Partner closely with Public Policy, Communications, Legal, Government Affairs, and business teams to identify, frame, and communicate priority issues.
  • Build and maintain editorial calendars, publishing workflows, and content governance frameworks.
  • Analyze engagement metrics and performance data to continually measure impact and optimize strategy.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of communications professionals and manage external agency partners.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging digital communication tools, formats, and channels to enhance stakeholder reach.
  • You'll build scalable processes that strengthen Coupang's digital communications capabilities to support crisis communications and rapid-response efforts, as well as steady-state and high-profile tentpole moments.

Requirements

  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to senior leaders are essential.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in e-commerce, tech platforms, or highly regulated global industries.
  • Strong background in digital analytics tools, audience insights, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Experience with Asia-Pacific markets and policy issues.
  • Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets.
  • The base pay for this position ranges from $148,400/year in our lowest geographic market to $256,520/year in our highest geographic market.
