About the role
- assesses the nature and extent of the illness and injury to establish and prioritize care needed for safe transport of the critical care patient to an appropriate facility.
- Is qualified to provide care for patients across the life-span in assigned clinical area.
- Assures that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum.
Responsibilities
- Provides basic and advanced life support (ALS) interventions as needed.
- Assesses patient conditions, establish priorities, and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintains accurate patient care reports and complies with all regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Performs Point of Care (POC) testing with approval of Administration
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Obtaining conventional State required certification and National Registry (NREMT) certification must occur within twelve months of hire.
- Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
- Required within 90 days of hire
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of patient equip (Vitals, suction, defib)
- Working knowledge of Cardiac Monitor, Defibrillator, Pulse Oximeter, Non-Invasive BP Monitor, Infusion Pumps, Other Equipment
- High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned.
Nice to have
- Experience - No experience required.
- One (1) year pre-hospital care experience preferred
