  • As a Material Planner at GE Appliances, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the management of raw materials and purchased components.
  • Please note that this position requires 100% onsite presence.

  • This role involves direct engagement with the supply base to ensure the timely shipment and receipt of materials necessary to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Additionally, you will collaborate with inbound transportation teams to monitor and coordinate the Just-in-Time delivery of materials.
  • How You'll Create Possibilities
  • Lead and support initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, maintain Bill of Material precision, analyze excess and obsolete parts, facilitate new model introductions, and optimize logistics planning.
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships with both existing and prospective suppliers to support operational objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage production schedule adjustments and supply shortages with the scheduling team to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance, minimizing expedited orders and reducing inventory levels while preventing production line downtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or scientific-related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in process improvement, lean expertise, change management and/or process redesign within a manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

  • Working understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain concepts, including the flow of parts through various stages.
  • Effective communication skills for clear information exchange.
  • Sound judgment, planning, and systematic skills for effective interaction with management, production teams, and supplier contacts.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the capacity to motivate teams and achieve exceptional results.
  • In-depth understanding of the Appliance Industry.

  • Working conditions are normal for both an office and a manufacturing environment.
  • Work may involve lifting materials and products up to 30 pounds.
  • Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots.
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
