About the role
- The MSU represents full-time undergraduate students at McMaster University.
- The MSU purpose is to draw into a true society all students at McMaster University.
- In pursuit of this, it will foster activities and events which will enhance the University experience of its members and contribute to the life of the University as a whole.
Responsibilities
- Develop assessment tools to review existing resources and modules provided by MSU services & businesses and consolidate recommendations for areas of improvement
- Develop, coordinate and/or deliver professional / skill development workshops throughout the academic year for staff and volunteers
- Identify, develop, update and monitor training opportunities and requirements for the MSU as needed
- Including peer support service training, PTM and FT staff
- Map out training plans, design and develop training programs
- Organize, develop, or source training programs to meet specific training needs
- Maintains employee training records
Requirements
- The successful candidate will have HR Coordinat or experience with a focus on s upporting training, development and onboarding initiatives.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilitie s
- Must have good interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with a variety of different people including students, part-time and full-time staff, suppliers and University stakeholders
- Ability to gain a good working knowledge of MSU policies and legislative guidelines
- Must be able to work with minimal direction
- Resourcefulness required to provide human resources support for all staff
- Discreetness required, as the incumbent will be privy to sensitive and confidential information
