About the role

  • The CFO serves as the financial leader for the company, responsible for all aspects of accounting, finance, and payroll operations.
  • This role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on ownership of daily controllership and financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key business partner to the Company President, providing financial insight and analysis to drive growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with operations leaders to assess project performance, pricing strategies, and service profitability.
  • Support capital investment decisions with sound financial modeling and ROI analysis.
  • Drive cost optimization and efficiency initiatives to maximize profitability.
  • Support KPI tracking and reporting.
  • Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain compliance with US GAAP and internal financial policies.
  • Manage audits and tax reporting in collaboration with Astra Finance and external auditors.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures.

Requirements

  • 10-12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle accounting and lead a hands-on finance team.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Public accounting experience (3+ years) preferred.
  • Experience in construction, mechanical, or field service industries preferred.
  • Experience with COINS, Sage Intacct, and Workday preferred.
