About the role

  • The " Supplier Quality Engineer " will be based in Dallas, TX.
  • Responsible for supplier development in a manufacturing or service process

Responsibilities

  • Material (Component) Qualification---Implement PPAP (FAI). PPAP include FAI, Material Certificates, Quality/Process Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, Process Parameter Sheet, RoHS compliance, Reliability Test, COC, etc.
  • Drive supplier corrective action from supplier in Pilot Runs (1-3 lots) and smoothly transfer the pilot run to mass production.
  • Performs quality audits on suppliers to assure products and services meet International Organization for Standards (ISO) and regulatory standards.
  • Forms a good relationship with the purchasing engineer and the supplier system in order to maintain a strong system and supplier relationships for the organization in which they work.
  • Provides cross functional help to select, approve and develop suppliers to meet customer and business needs.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor degree in related field.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience.
  • Use of the following tools may be required: Electronic Assembly: color code, component, schematics.
  • ECO/ECN/SCR implementation---Handle with ECO/ECN/SCR from customer, follow up the status in case that PPAP/FAI is required prior to production.
  • May require various PCB operations.
  • Testing: oscilloscope, cable and harness testing, trouble shooting, component testing, logic analyzer.
  • Inspection: bare board, systems, components, cable and harness, microscope, measuring tools.
  • Mechanical & Electrical Tools: taps and dies, alignment tools, measuring tools.

Skills

  • Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex's functional standards.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of functional concepts and a solid understanding of Flex policies and procedures.
  • Typically requires some knowledge of computerized electronic test equipment and programming.
