About the role

The ideal candidate would reside in Santa Fe, NM.) Key duties include representing Adams State University at college fairs, high school visits, and other outreach activities.
This role will work closely with the high schools in New Mexico and the Southwest region, as well as other schools in the broader region.
The Admissions Counselor is responsible for achieving recruitment and performance metrics and goals as assigned.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at high schools, including counselors, to assist students with the admissions, financial aid, and housing processes.
Collaborate with campus departments (e.g., financial aid, academic areas, housing, and athletics) to support students throughout the admissions process.
Help develop social media content and marketing materials for the Admissions department.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure the success of the department

Bachelor's degree in a relevant area (i.e., business, marketing, etc.)
Experience in setting and achieving goals.
Proficiency with software applications and technology such as Workday, MS Office Suites, and Google Suites.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Experience working with diverse, non-traditional, and underserved student populations in a supportive manner.
Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community.
Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with students, staff, and the community.
Ability to travel in and around the assigned territory, including occasional overnight stays.
Advise students on degree programs, course selection, placement test interpretation, and other academic matters.

Experience working effectively both as a team member and independently.
Ability to handle sensitive information with diplomacy and professionalism.
Experience in student advising.
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Work Environment:
This position requires extensive travel around the assigned territory of New Mexico, Western Colorado, Arizona, and California. (The role may also require additional travel to other states in the U.S. as needed.
The ideal candidate would reside in Santa Fe, NM.)
Flexibility in work hours is required, with the possibility of early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
