About the role
- The Temporary Admissions Counselor position is a part-time, campus-based, temporary non-faculty professional exempt position in the Office of Admissions at Colorado School of Mines.
- This position reports to the Director of Admissions for Recruitment Strategy and is a member of the Enrollment Management team.
Responsibilities
- Visit and Event Support (15%)
- Provide support for daily visits and tours, including giving information sessions and welcoming visitors to campus.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in college admissions, student services, customer service, or sales.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, responsibilities, and programs simultaneously.
- Strong project management, resourcefulness, use of good judgment, and the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel throughout assigned region for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- A positive attitude and independent work ethic.
Nice to have
- Previous experience as an admissions counselor.
- Experience using data to inform decisions.
- Experience using an admissions CRM, ideally Slate.
- Knowledge of recruitment strategies for selective STEM institutions.
Compensation
- $24 - $27/hour
