About the role

  • A Staff Scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr.
  • We employ a multimodal strategy that leverages basic cell culture and animal models as well as patient biosamples to translate findings to human disease.
  • The researcher will have the opportunity to work alongside members of the WashU ALS Center.

Responsibilities

  • Following instructions and discussions with the principal investigator, designs research protocols, including developing procedures for the collection, verification and management of data.
  • Performs complex statistical analysis of data collected and writes interpretative reports. Verifies the correctness of the data submitted and makes recommendations based on these analyses.
  • Documents research topics and prepares and submits papers based on research work to publications and committees for publication or presentation to peers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Cindy Ly (Department of Neurology) to perform basic and translational research in motor neuron disease.
  • The focus of the Ly Lab is to develop novel biofluid biomarkers and discover therapeutic targets for motor neuron disease including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

Requirements

Compensation

  • $48,000.00 - $86,900.00 / Annually
  • The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
