  • Renewal Underwriter is focused on achieving underwriting excellence, ensuring profitability, and maintaining alignment with our strategic portfolio objectives.
  • Responsible for the profitability, growth and/or retention of assigned book of business and assigned renewal underwriters.
  • Evaluate and process insurance renewals, demonstrate functional technical knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures and techniques to include coverage issues, product lines, relevant systems and competition in the marketplace.
  • Manage relationships with assigned producers to manage submission, quote and bind activity and deliver on service commitments established by the designated Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Underwrite and skillfully negotiate accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
  • Underwrites within individual authority level.
  • Review and assess renewal applications to determine the risk and eligibility of clients Generate quote proposals and deliver to producers; negotiate final terms leading to binding.
  • Utilize underwriting guidelines and actuarial data to assess risk levels.
  • Make recommendations on coverage terms, conditions, and pricing.
  • Ensure timely processing of renewal policies.
