About the role
- Kunai is seeking a skilled Scala Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, immutable, and distributed systems with a focus on data streaming and backend services using functional Scala.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to build and deliver robust, cloud-based solutions, leveraging AWS infrastructure and modern development practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in software application development.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with functional programming (e.g., Scala, Haskell, Clojure, Common Lisp).
- 2+ years of experience working with DynamoDB, PostgresDB.
- Familiarity with the ZIO framework, Finagle libraries.
- Prior experience in fintech or banking environments.
- 4+ years working with open-source web technologies.
- 2+ years of experience in performance tuning and monitoring.
- 1+ years working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
- Hands-on experience optimizing high-scale server systems.
- Minimum Degree Required:
Nice to have
- 3+ yrs of experience with GCP and AWS, cloud migration background a plus.
