About the role

  • Navteca is seeking a skilled Web Server Specialist to support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing management of web and application server environments.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft-based web platforms and modern cloud technologies, along with a strong understanding of web infrastructure, security, and performance optimization.
  • This role supports enterprise environments aligned with Fairfax County standards, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and secure operations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, manage, and maintain web servers and application servers
  • Provide technical support for web-based platforms and hosted applications
  • Administer and support Microsoft IIS and ASP.NET environments
  • Implement security controls, including user access management, encryption, and certificate management
  • Support cloud-based web infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments and integrations

  • Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • DevOps Tools: Git, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible
  • Security: User access controls, encryption, certificate management
  • Networking fundamentals and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Experience with API development and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
  • 2-4 years of experience in web server administration or related field
  • Experience supporting Windows-based web environments
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted applications and hybrid environments
