About the role
- Job Title Chemistry Tutor Job Description Engineering Tutor Kaplan International Pathways Canada is hiring a casual Engineering Tutor to join our team.
- This role focuses on supporting students in first-year university-level engineering courses, helping them strengthen their conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities.
- Location & Availability This position is based in person at the University of Alberta North Campus in Edmonton.
Responsibilities
- The tutor will provide academic support to international students enrolled in the Year One Foundation Program at the University of Alberta.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or has completed a degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Engineering Science).
- Strong proficiency at the university-level engineering subjects in mathematics, physics, chemistry and introductory programming, depending on student needs.
- Strong ability to connect formulas and calculations to underlying principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible, and culturally sensitive manner.
- Awareness of language barriers and strategies for supporting students with varying levels of English proficiency.
Compensation
- This is a casual, hourly-paid position, with a salary of $25/hr, about 2-4 hours per week.
