About the role

  • The BIM Technician will generate construction documentation, assist with project planning, and provide visualizations and reports that enhance decision-making.
  • This position will be based out of Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Model Coordination: Integrating design information from various disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) into the 3D model
  • Clash Detection: Identifying and resolving spatial conflicts or clashes between different building components using clash detection tools
  • Construction Documentation: Generating drawings, schedules, and visualizations from the 3D model to support construction planning and execution
  • Maintaining and Updating Models: Ensuring the BIM model remains current with design changes and project updates

Requirements

  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Evolve, ACC, Solidworks, or Navisworks
  • Success in this role requires proficiency in BIM tools, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of electrical and/or construction practices and standards.
  • Ability to create detailed 2D drawings from 3D models
  • Sound understanding of construction methods and terminology, building codes, and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret design information
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to create/modify basic Revit families
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines
