- To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You'll Be Doing As a Senior Manager on the General Accounting Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial close process.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with business partners, offshore and the Controllership team, you will oversee month-end activities including the preparation and review of timely accounting entries and the delivery of detailed financial review and analysis.
- Through your leadership you will also support continuous process improvement initiatives and promote the use of automation tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement - Foster a process improvement mindset, sharing ideas and automation opportunities, and constantly seeking ways to enhance the processes you own or contribute to.
- Relationship Management - Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills. Liaise regularly with outsource service providers, CFO Finance, Taxation, Policy, and all Line of Businesses and Functional Groups.

Nice to have
- Accounting Operations and Governance - Provide guidance to the team on accounting matters, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of general accounting policies, fixed asset, prepaid, and accrual accounting.
- Organizational Skill - Execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Problem Solving - Investigate end-to-end processes from origination to reporting to identify gaps and recommend optimal solutions for the bank.
- Take a hands-on approach to complex finance issues.
- Liaise regularly with outsource service providers, CFO Finance, Taxation, Policy, and all Line of Businesses and Functional Groups.
- You're a certified professional.
- You have current accreditation and good standing in an accounting designation or related (CPA, Masters etc.), with progressive experience within a large multi-dimensional organization.
- You can demonstrate 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a management capacity.
