To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You'll Be Doing As a Senior Manager on the General Accounting Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial close process.

Working closely with business partners, offshore and the Controllership team, you will oversee month-end activities including the preparation and review of timely accounting entries and the delivery of detailed financial review and analysis.
Through your leadership you will also support continuous process improvement initiatives and promote the use of automation tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement - Foster a process improvement mindset, sharing ideas and automation opportunities, and constantly seeking ways to enhance the processes you own or contribute to.
Relationship Management - Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills. Liaise regularly with outsource service providers, CFO Finance, Taxation, Policy, and all Line of Businesses and Functional Groups.

Accounting Operations and Governance - Provide guidance to the team on accounting matters, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of general accounting policies, fixed asset, prepaid, and accrual accounting.
Organizational Skill - Execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Problem Solving - Investigate end-to-end processes from origination to reporting to identify gaps and recommend optimal solutions for the bank.
Take a hands-on approach to complex finance issues.
Liaise regularly with outsource service providers, CFO Finance, Taxation, Policy, and all Line of Businesses and Functional Groups.
You're a certified professional.
You have current accreditation and good standing in an accounting designation or related (CPA, Masters etc.), with progressive experience within a large multi-dimensional organization.
You can demonstrate 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a management capacity.
