About the role

  • Job Description WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
  • Provide technical direction and oversight for SWIFT messaging routing & conversion logic, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of end-to-end payment flows across MT and MX formats.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of market infrastructure interfaces (ie: SWIFTnet, Crest, Euroclear, CLS Manager) and common services that underpin the broader payments ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Canadian-based software development team, including hiring, mentorship, capacity planning, and performance management.
  • Own the re-engineering strategy for Fiserv connectivity, including integration design, monitoring, and production stability.
  • Database design and optimization (Oracle, MongoDB) Data persistence strategies for high-volume transactional systems Hands-on experience or deep architectural familiarity with Java and Unix-based environments.
  • Proven ability to build, retain, and develop high-performing engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in software development leadership within payments, capital markets, or financial services technology.
  • Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT and MX messaging standards, message routing, and translation logic.
  • Experience with Fiserv payment platforms, CLS Manager, and Broadridge systems integration.
  • Experience with vendor integration, API connectivity, and large-scale platform rollouts in a regulated environment.
  • Strong technical and financial Capital Markets and Ops background Extensive experience with payment processing, end to end systems flows
