About the role
- This position reports to the unit RN or RPN.
- This position is governed by the SEIU collective agreement.
Requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the care team.
- Experience in Long Term Care setting is considered an asset
- The successful candidate for this position must have the following
- Comfort, reassure, and understand residents' emotional, social and spiritual needs
Skills
- Sound judgement, problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Which include regularly: standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing and pulling.
- The successful candidate for this position must be able to:
- Provide personal care to residents such as bathing, assisting with personal hygiene, toileting, and others.
- Assist residents with R.O.M. exercises and mobility as directed.
- Serve and collect food trays.
- Feed residents who require assistance
