About the role
- Total Number of Openings 1 Chevron is accepting online applications for the Process Control Engineer position through July 27, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. El Segundo, CA time (PDT).
- Requires regular communication with many work groups including Operations, Maintenance, Technical and Planning.
- Individual reports to the Process Control Team Leader within the refinery.
Responsibilities
- Implements and maintains multivariable process control applications that are consistent with short-term and long-term operating plans
- Implements and maintains inferential calculations to support advanced control and optimization applications
- Implements and maintains basic and advanced regulatory process control strategies
- Manage and support the Process Control Network (PCN) infrastructure, network security, and backup systems
- Provides daily process control support for console operators
- A Process Control Engineer is a specialist in designing, implementing, and maintaining multivariable control applications (DMCplus, BPC) and the applications that support the multivariable control applications (inferred, et al.).
- Additional responsibilities include configuration and tuning of control loops, support of Honeywell TDC-3000 distributed control systems (DCS) and/or Honeywell Experion DCS, alarm management support and assistance in training console operators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Quantified experience: M inimum 5-7 years in Mfg.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's in chemical engineering, or greater.
- Quantified experience: Min 10-15 years in Refinery Mfg.
- Process Control role.
- Demonstrated competency and business impact in Petroleum Refining Processes and/or associated Blending Operations, ideally via process control contributions.
- Demonstrated familiarity with basic and advanced/multivariable process control and DCS (Distributed Control System)
- specifically with Aspentech DMC and/or GDOT and Honeywell TPS and/or Experion.
- Relocation Options:
- Relocation may be considered.
Compensation
- The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $120,300 - $206,400.
