About the role
- The University of Chicago Law School is seeking an Assistant Registrar.
Responsibilities
- Supports course evaluations, grade reporting, graduation tracking and ceremonies.
- Supports classroom reservations and make-up class scheduling.
- Performs audits of student/course data
- Prepares student and course databases in support of registration audits and processing.
- Validates enrollment records in the student information system. Contributes to the creation of the course schedule and the assignment of classrooms.
- Performs audits of student/course data; and images files to student and course records.
- Performs other related work as needed.
- The individual in this position reports to the Law School's Registrar and Assistant Dean of Students and provides front office assistance and support to students, faculty, and staff in a dynamic, high-volume student academic services department.
Requirements
- include a college or university degree in related field.
- Ability to learn new processes and procedures in various systems, including student databases like PeopleSoft, seating chart software, and similar programs.
- Accept supervision and to work collaboratively with a team, as well as ability to work independently and to function effectively, at times, with minimal supervision.
- Supports the Registrar's Office with projects related to compiling and verifying student and course data, degree audits and certification, and data analysis.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in an administrative role strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in an academic department and working with faculty and students strongly preferred.
- Experience handling confidential data, experience with student records strongly preferred.

- Strong organizational, multitasking and follow-through skills; attention to detail.

Compensation
- $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 The included pay rate or range represents the University's good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting.
