About the role

- Personal Care: Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Health and Safety: Administer medications as directed, monitor health conditions, and provide emergency assistance if necessary.
Responsibilities
- Skill Development: Support individuals in developing and enhancing their life skills, including personal hygiene, cooking, money management, and social skills.
- Behavioral Support: Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans, promoting positive behaviors and managing challenging behaviors when necessary.
- A Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides essential care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Requirements
- Provide or arrange transportation to appointments, social events, and other outings as required.
- Complete required documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

Nice to have
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a caregiving role is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- additional training or certification in related fields (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration) is preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to manage challenging behaviors.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
