About the role
- Provides legal advice in the initiation and execution of service campaigns.
- Includes management of workouts and bankruptcies. - Handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Inadvertent leaks or miscommunication of information can have a direct impact to company image (locally and potentially globally) and financial impact to the organization.
Responsibilities
- Providing legal advice related to vehicle warranties, manages warranty litigation, and assists the General Counsel in responding to related regulatory attorneys general inquiries and investigations.
- As directed by the General Counsel, managing and coordinating litigation, providing recommendations on decision-making regarding case strategy, documents preparation and legal research management of outside counsel.
- Providing legal advice and support in all legal aspects of the procurement process, including contract negotiations and drafting.
- Providing legal support to ensure finance and lease activities compliance and regulation and main liaison with captive finance associations regarding legal matters of interest to the Company.
- Occasionally manage and attend Arbitration, Small Claims and Superior Court Litigation matters.
Requirements
- Providing corporate secretarial support for any of Nissan Canada's affiliates, as required by the General Counsel.
- Law degree from an accredited law school and member of bar in the province of Ontario/ Quebec required.
Compensation
- decisions also consider internal equity and comparisons with the base salary rates of other employees with similar backgrounds working in comparable roles.
- Bonus, benefits, and other forms of variable compensation are not included in the base-salary range shown above.
- $77,711.00 - $96,034.00 This compensation range represents the minimum to midpoint base salary rates at Nissan for jobs assigned to this particular grade level.
- Please note that an employee's base salary may occasionally be set above the midpoint of the salary band for this grade level, in recognition of the employee's unique skills, work experience, education, work location, or market conditions.
