About the role
- Opensity Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team.
- In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, year-end audit and financial planning initiatives.
- Account reconciliations are also a critical component of this role, and the successful candidate will be relied upon to ensure account balances are accurate, well-supported, and resolved in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed and complex vendor and client bill back reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Lead and assist with the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all close activities.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and other business units as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Experience with budgeting and reforecasting processes.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. Sage Intacct) and MS Office Suite of tools including Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Collaborative team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice to have
- CPA designation preferred but not required.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- clear, professional, and client-facing.
Compensation
- [CAD $65,000 - $78,000] excluding annual bonus and equity (when applicable).
- Salary is based on a number of factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
- This policy applies to all aspects of employment, including recruitment, hiring, promotion, compensation, training, discipline, and termination.
- Support the annual budgeting process by collaborating with department heads to develop and consolidate budget submissions.
