  • The program is housed on the Barton Campus in the School of Health Sciences and students participate in clinic throughout hospitals in upstate South Carolina.
  • Faculty assist students with course content including the role of the respiratory therapist, health care concepts, and technical observations and skills.
  • The four full-time and six part-time faculty provide the students with a strong background in the use of respiratory equipment, cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, diagnostic procedures, and pathophysiology.

Responsibilities

  • The other primary objective of this program is to fill the need for respiratory therapists and to build and maintain a progressive respiratory care profession for the members of the community.

Requirements

  • The associate degree program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

Compensation

  • On average, the program has 2 cohorts of students (1st year and 2nd year students) averaging 30-35 students annually.
