About the role
- At LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc., the Specialist II, Safety and Health will play a key role in supporting and enhancing environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs to promote a safe and compliant workplace.
- This role focuses on identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and supporting the development of a strong safety culture across the site.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams, the specialist conducts audits, inspections, and incident investigations, and provides guidance to ensure consistent implementation of EHS standards and programs.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
- Support equipment reviews, mechanical and ergonomic risk assessments, and ensure safe implementation of new processes and equipment.
- Conduct industrial hygiene (IH) sampling, safety inspections, and respirator fit testing, and support emergency response planning and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies (e.g., fire, EMS, regulatory bodies) to support site safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Knowledge of NFPA and IFC standards, as well as applicable building and fire code requirements.
- Ability and willingness to cross-train across EHS functions to support team needs.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience supporting and improving EHS programs within a manufacturing environment.
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred.
- Experience supporting ISO certification efforts and EHS compliance programs.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local EHS regulations.
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes and technologies, including automation, chemicals, and electrical systems.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate technical data, test results, and reports.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Positive, self-driven attitude with strong interpersonal skills and ability to achieve goals.
