About the role
- Start date is upon expiration of the posting deadline and in accordance with Article XIII, Section C of the USW Contract.
- GENERAL SUMMARY: This position will provide instructional and non-instructional services to students as outlined by the assigned certified classroom teacher.
- ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Will provide direct and/or standby assistance for feeding, toileting, health care, and related medical services, etc. for students as legally allowable.

Requirements
- Two years of experience working with developmentally disabled children, or two years of college in related areas.
- Must be able to work effectively with co-workers, students and parents.
- Must be able to lift and assist students weighing 75 lbs. or more.
- Good oral/written communication, comprehension, and math skills required.
- Good attendance history required.
Skills
- Responsible for collecting and tabulating instructional data.
- To keep all student, parent and staff information confidential.
- To be able to lift and assist students weighing 75 lbs. or more.
- To ensure a safe environment for students at all times.
- To meet and greet visitors in a positive, helpful manner.
- Maintenance and disinfecting of classroom equipment.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing to receive additional training to improve job skills.
