About the role

  • D-Wave is seeking an experienced Electrical Production Technician II to join our Engineering and Production team.
  • In this role, you will assemble, test, troubleshoot, and integrate electrical and electromechanical assemblies used in our advanced quantum computing systems.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Production, Laboratory Operations, and Supply Chain, you will help ensure products are manufactured, tested, and documented to the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvements to manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional testing, inspection, and validation using electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Support engineering validation builds, prototype assemblies, new product introductions (NPI), and engineering change implementations.
  • Execute work orders and maintain accurate production, test, and traceability records.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and test documentation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve manufacturing issues and improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Maintain production equipment, tools, and test fixtures to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Provide general production and laboratory support as needed.
  • Perform functional testing, inspection, and validation using electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, automatic cable testers and other diagnostic tools.

Requirements

  • This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Troubleshoot electrical, wiring, and assembly issues to identify root causes and complete repairs or rework as required.
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, electrical assembly, or production testing.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, cable assembly, crimping, connector installation, and general electronic assembly techniques.

  • 115,000 - 158,000 CAD per year (Burnaby)
