About the role
- Reporting to the Economic Development Manager, this position contributes to the implementation of the Economic Development Strategy and strategic priorities.

- This is a permanent full-time position based on 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- This position will help promote economic growth opportunities and community development through marketing initiatives, business engagement, and project support.
- The successful candidate will be community-focused, service-oriented, with a passion for supporting local businesses, residents, partners, and investors through meaningful engagement.
- The specialist will work to ensure Stony Plain remains an attractive, investment-friendly, and future-ready community through marketing activities, data collection, and economic development support.
Requirements
- Has strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize independently and adapt to changing workloads and timelines.
- Has knowledge of economic and business development principles.
- Holds a post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in marketing, economic development, or a related field, preferably in a municipal or similar environment, is required.
