About the role

  • Deckhand of the passenger transfers vessel.
  • Ensure the safety of life, the vessel, and the prevention of marine pollution while working within the established health and safety guidelines, policies, and procedures of the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform passenger safety briefings.

Requirements

  • Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring, in addition, to randomly with prior notice.
  • Main duties related to the safe transfer of personnel, and emergency response as required.
  • Verifying that all crew and passengers have all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Monitor transfer of client cargo and record as required.
  • Operate crane and perform cargo handling (Rigger/Banksman) if certified, as required.
  • MED-DVS (Marine Emergency Duties training program for Canadian seafarers working on domestic vessels)
  • Radio Operators Certificate - Marine (ROC-M)
  • Marine Basic or Advanced First Aid (MBFA) / (MAFA)
  • Valid Seafarers Medical certificate (MMC)
  • Excellent comprehension and command of the English language (written & verbal)
  • Bridge Watch rating an asset.
  • Working Conditions
  • Frequent standing, bending, twisting, and walking throughout the shift.
  • Frequent situations where maintaining balance is essential
  • Frequent kneeling

Nice to have

  • Relevant marine experience preferred.
