About the role
- Activities include but are not limited to the following:
- Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist prepare oral and intravenous medications for administration.
- Procure and distribute prescription medication orders per physician and pharmacist instruction.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and generate patient reports and records through the applicable computer system.
- Maintain appropriate investigational medication records, as assigned.
- Maintain adequate medication inventories and pharmacy supplies.
Requirements
- Conduct inventory of all medication as required.
- A true and correct copy of renewal certificate must be provided Other duties as required.
- Report and work only under the authority of a state registered pharmacist in all activities required to provide optimal patient care.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Licenses: Current Pharmacy technician certification from the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
Nice to have
- One to two years of IV and/or chemotherapy admixture experience preferred but not required.
- IV / chemotherapy certification is a plus.
Skills
- Demonstrate acceptable oral and written communication skills and courteous telephone operating skills.
